Victorian Bird Eggs Display
This is a project I have had on my mind for some time.
Each individual egg is handmade. I have tried to make them true 12th scale and have painted each egg to reflect the eggs as they are in the wild. Each little cotton lined box has eggs as follows: Jay; Nightingale; Jackdaw; Spotted Crake; Redshanke; Golden Eagles; Tawny Owl; Black Headed Gull; Buzzard; Raven; Robin; Sedge Warbler; Missel Thrush; Black Tailed Godwit; Bullfinch; Golden Plover and Emu. Each label is readable.
Egg collecting was a very popular pastime in Victorian England and was outlawed in the 1950's. The unit is JiaYi Handcarved Walnut style with real glass. The top slides out. It measure H9.3cm x W8.5cm x D4.4cm. The eggs and boxes are fixed in place.
Eminently suitable for a house, Museum, antique shop, Ornithology studies etc.

FOSSIL COLLECTION
This is a set of genuine fossils from insectivores, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The bones date from the late Eocene to early-mid Oligocene 23.3 to 38.6 million years ago and were found in Nebraska. The teeth and Claws date from the Miocene to Pliocene ages, 4 million to 20 million years ago and were found in Aurora, North Carolina.
As this is a 12th scale museum piece, I have used artistic license and named the parts after dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus Rex Tooth; Partial Scapula of the Raptorex; Claw of Lesothosaurus; Ripping Claw of Velociraptor etc etc. I will include a tiny readable book giving details i.e When and where each dinosaur roamed the earth, where the fossil was found and when. I have yet to make this little book so if you purchase this item you may have to wait a few days until I make the book. It will look like a paleontoligists notes!
I have made an inner shelf so that the display is on two levels. The labels are fully readable. The unit is JiaYi Handcarved Walnut style with real glass. The top slides out. It measures H9.3cm x W8.5cm x D4.4cm. Eminently suitable for a house, Museum, antique shop, Paleontology studies etc.

Butterfly Display
This is a project I have had on my mind for some time. Each label is readable. Each butterfly and moth is made using the finest quality sheer paper which brings out the fine colour detail.
Butterfly collecting was a very popular pastime in the 19th Century and although not outlawed, there is a code of practice for collecting these wonderful creatures today. The unit is a red mahoganny colour. Fully closed, it measure H13.1cm x W6cm x D4cm . The butterflies and moths are fixed in place.

Golden Egyptian Sphinx is made from resin, finished in gold paint, with the hieroglyphs inlayed with black paint as well as other highlighted details.
A Sphinx is a zoomorphic mythological figure, which is commonly depicted as a recumbent lion with a woman's head. Sphinxes were generally used as temple guardians, most famous is the Great Sphinx of Giza which guards the Pyramid of Khafre.

Anubis was associated with the mummification and protection of the dead for their journey into the afterlife. He was usually portrayed as a half human, half jackal, or in full jackal form wearing a ribbon and holding a flail. The jackal was strongly associated with cemeteries in ancient Egypt, since it was a scavenger which threatened to uncover human bodies and eat their flesh.
Golden Anubis statue is made from resin, finished in gold paint with black and red details, the staff is made from metal.

Each Golden Bast is made from resin, finished in gold paint with coloured highlighted details, the Bast is stood on a hieroglyph inscribed base.
The Goddess Bast is often depicted holding a sistrum, symbolizing her role as a goddess of dance, joy and festivity. A sistrum is a musical instrument, associated with ancient Egypt and was used in religious ceremonies. A percussion instrument, the sistrum created a range of sound from tinkling to a loud jangling.

ANNUBIS COFFIN AND MUMMY
Many ancient civilizations believed in life after death. We identify mumification with ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians - during the time of the dynasties - believed that mummification would guarantee the soul passage into the next life. In no other civilization have such elaborate preparations for the afterlife been made in the preservation of the dead.
Each Egyptian figure is finished in bright golds, reds, blues and blacks, colours typically associated with Egyptian imagery.
Length 13.5cm, Mummy Length 10.5cm.

King Tutankhamun style sarcophagus.
The real sarcophagus was made of four guilded wooden shrines, one inside the other, within which lay the stone sarcophagus, three mummiform coffins, the inner one being solid gold, and then the mummy. Haste can be seen in the reliefs and the sarcophagus, due to the fact that Tutankhamun died at only 19 years of age following a brief reign. Though extremely impressive to the modern world, the treasures of Tutankhamun must have paled when compared to the tombs of the great Pharaohs that ruled for many years during Egypt's golden age.
